All files have attributes. Like
"Archived" or "Read-Only" or "Hidden". All files have creation time, time
of last access and modification. One thing all operating systems miss
- is the lifetime of the file and folder, so called "Time To Live".
And Time To Leave solves this problem,
maintaining its own registry of files lifetime data.

How often did you explore endless
folders of your PC, only to find old big abandoned files, that consume
your disk space? That is a problem we face all the time. Most people
don't have time and memory to remember all the files they left in every
corner of their computer, and all cleanup manager don't touch such files,
as they are not temporary, junk or garbage. They are just obsolete.
It is user friendly, you don't need
to run TTL ("Time To Leave") each time, you want to set the lifetime
of your file or folder. You can do it, by selecting the right file,
clicking it by the right button of your mouse, and select needful option
from menu. It is extremely easy.
You can set the lifetime of files.
And when file lifetime expires, program will move it to your Recycle
Bin, simply delete, or securely erase. There are many options, that
you can set, to make cleanup safe, fast and invisible, but there is
nothing boring, most of things are optional, have defaults and most
recommended values.
You can set the lifetime of folders.
You have temporary folders (usually called TEMP), you may have download
("download", "incoming") folders, where you collect files, and forget
about them. You can set options for that folders, for example, to remove
old files from such folders, to recycle bin, and leave only fresh files
alive. Once you make your decision, you will not ever need to run sweepers
or whatever cleaning tools on that folder, it will always contain just
fresh files.
In this screenshot, you see the "Folders" list. There
are 5 folders, queued for periodical cleanup. You can see, that from
some folders we recycle files, and from one folder - simply delete.
The "Mask" column shows, what kind of files you want to eliminate -
all, or just of any specific type.
TTL have some advanced features.
For example, it can monitor your hard drive(s) for free space. Once
free space reach the lowest limit, some actions can be done. This is
not just a duplicate of Windows internal function, but also have the
advanced option to kill files, that you can Sacrifice to keep
free space. Sacrificing means - you don't want to delete some
files, but would, if space would become too low. TTL can do this for you
- you can just mark file or folder as "sacrificed", after you downloaded
it, and don't worry about the disk space it consumes - if it is still
here, you have no problems with free space.
Files can be not just erased, but even compressed instead.
Although you can use NTFS compression (if you have Windows XP, or later),
or any 3-rd party tool like "Zip folders", this feature provides you
such option with better price / quality ratio.
There are more options and features in TTL, but we will
keep them for you to discover, as this will be, surely, a pleasant surprise.

97Gb for free space check and allows to set file/folder age without
using updown arrows. Zip file contains only executable ttl.exe, just
substitute your existing ttl.exe with this one.
To make downloading time shorter, we removed certain components from
the package. They already exists in Windows XP, so you are not going
to need it. However, users of Windows 2000 and older systems may need
these packages to be installed for TTL to work:
However, try to download and run TTL first, if you will
encounter any problems, download these components.

System requirements:
Time To Leave is compatible with all 32-bit versions
of Windows. Excerption is Windows 95, that is supported since version
OEM 2 only. TTL is fully compatible with new Windows Server 2003.

IMPORTANT:
TTL
is a freeware. You don't have to pay to use it.
In order to remove
copyright protection in previous versions of TTL (2.2 and older)
please download and install
the newest
version.

Disclaimer:
We guarantee, that TTL may not break your computer or data. Please
take a look at "Options" window of TTL to see the switch, that enables
the data erasure. Before you will check it, no files may be erased.
It is up to you to set lifetime of the files.
